Downtown Elgin has another dining option — El Taco Alegre Mexican Grill opened its doors to customers Thursday.

Tacos, salads, quesadillas, burritos, fajitas and tortas make up the bulk of the menu. Co-owner Francisco Leon, who’s also the lead cook, said selections could change over time.
