MILWAUKEE -- A person was struck and killed by a vehicle near Layton Boulevard and Evergreen Lane, near the Mitchell Park Domes. It happened Friday, May 24, just before 7 p.m.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene.
Family members tell FOX6 News that an adult woman is the victim and the car that hit her kept going.
A number of family members were at the scene asking for answers.
"This is nothing that you can say when things like this happen to anyone. It's just best to be quiet and pray and be present," said a Salvation Army chaplain at the scene.
Officers have been taking what appears to be witness statements from a number of people.
