A head-on crash on Route 83 in Lake Villa Tuesday afternoon left one driver with life-threatening injuries, according to Lake Villa Police Sgt. James Decaro.
In the crash, one vehicle rolled over and caught fire, but bystanders quickly put out the blaze and attended to the drivers, he said.
