SHEBOYGAN COUNTY — A man in his 70s was taken to the hospital by Flight for Life after his vehicle collided with a train in Plymouth on Tuesday, April 23.
It happened just before 5 p.m. on Pleasant View Road near Valley Road.
When first responders arrived, the man was trapped in his vehicle. The Jaws of Life were used to extricate him.
An initial investigation revealed his vehicle was headed south on Pleasant View when it was struck by the westbound train.
Witnesses said the train’s whistle blew several times before it crossed the roadway. Police said witnesses said there was no indication of any attempt to stop or slow down for the train.
